Seung Rok Baek was born in South Korea in 1983. He started playing violin at the age of ten. He studied violin at Deokwon art high  school at the Hanyang University in Korea. During 2003-2004, he served in National Police Orchestra as principal 1st violinist as mandatory service. As soon as he turned back to University, he became interested in playing on period instrument, and he started to play on several concerts. In 2008, he took up with the studies of the baroque violin and baroque viola at the Royal conservatory in The Hague with Ryo Terakado and Catherine Mackintosh. He took part to many international festivals and masterclasses as, among the others, the Utrecht early music festival, Tafelmusik baroque orchestra summer institute, Jeune Orchedstre Atlantique, Amsterdam early music summer school. He played in many concerts in Europe and Korea with Il Gardelino, Collegium Musicum Den Haag, Musica Poetica, Contrasto Armonico, Il Concerto Barocco, Sigiswald Kuijken, Philippe Herreweghe, Bartold Kuijken, Peter van Heygen, Alfedo Bernardini, Jeane Lamon, Philippe Pierlot, Charles Toet, Marcel Ponseele, Richard Egarr and Ryo Terakado.
